This is a blog about some of my favorite things in life – my gardens, my kitchen and the dishes I make, my favorite places to visit and things I’ve collected and want to share with you. I’m fortunate to live in Pleasaton, California which is about 1/2 hour outside of San Francisco. We have four distinct seasons, with a hot, dry summer and a rainy winter. Spring and fall are generally a cooler version of summer.
Most of my days are spent in the garden – vegatables, roses, flowers, fruit – or whipping up something in the kitchen to share. I have a number of hobbies that I also share on the blog.
A number of years ago, we spent four years in Germany, due to my husband Ted’s job. The time we spent in Europe had a profound impact on me. It taught me that the world big, and though foreign countries have different people, we are all generally the same in the way we live, our families, our wants and needs. Living there also taught me much about entertaining people, making a beautiful table and cooking delicious food.
